General FAQ
The most accurate way to get your finger sized is to physically come and see me. I will be able to size your finger and that way there is no room for error. But we do understand that sometimes this not possible. If you are unable to get your fingers sized, you can follow the following simple steps:
- Wrap a narrow piece of cardboard around the finger you want the ring for.
- Mark the post where the paper meets.
- Measure with your ruler (as accurately as possible!) in mm.
- Use the ring sizing chart on the Sizing Guides page, to determine your size.
If you can not come see me at my workshop, you can also pop into any jewellery store where they will be able to measure your ring size for you.
Please send your ring size, however you might have got it, in a UK size (we follow the same measurements here in SA)
And just a ps. I can’t be held liable for an incorrect size! If sizes are wrong, resizing will come at a fee.
Yes and no! Each piece is unique so pop me a message and we can discuss your options.
We do charge for resizing and a minimum of R200 will be charged (depending on the design and materials used, this price may go up). Shipping costs will be payable by you for any exchanges or resizing.
As with resizing, it all depends on the piece of jewellery. Pop me an email and we can chat.
As a rule of thumb (for collection pieces and basic custom orders) your jewellery will be made within 10 working days. More complicated pieces will take longer, but I will always be in touch to let you know a basic time frame.
If there is a piece that you need for a certain date, please let me know before placing your order. This will eliminate disappointment or frustrations on both sides!
I use a door to door courier who will generally deliver in 2/3 working days. If you are situated in Durban, you can collect it from my work shop in Glenwood.
All the jewellery sold through this website is hand made by me. It’s a process and takes time to be made perfectly for you! Please be patient.
Yay for new jewellery!
So once I have received payment, I will be able to start manufacturing your piece. The time this takes to do depends on what it is, what materials I have to order in and the volume of work I have.
Once I have made your jewellery, you will be notified and I will either send it off with the courier, or if you are situated in Durban, you can collect it from my work shop in Glenwood.
If you haven’t realised yet, gem stones are one of my favourite materials to work with! I generally source any materials needed for a piece. But if you have a gem stone from an old piece of jewellery or that you’ve bought, I’d be happy to design and make something using it.
If you have metal that you would like to use, I can use it but it will need to refined (processed back into fine silver/gold). Get in touch for more info!
In a nutshell, we can make a plan!!
Woooooo! Very exciting.
There are a few aspects you need to think about when getting an engagement ring made:
- Metal type
- Ring size
- Stone selection
- Budget
These are the main aspects, but I am always happy to help guide you with it all. Send me an email and we can chat!
The wonderful thing about buying jewellery from a small jewellery business is that generally the jewellery is completely hand made in small numbers. This is the case with C.Jade Jewellery. As a one woman team, I hand make each piece of jewellery from start to finish. Ultimately all that this means is that there might be slight variances in products. I obviously try to ensure that I am accurate when making your jewellery, but please be understanding. Each little difference only adds to the charm, character and uniqueness of each piece.
A special note on gems stones: due to Mother Nature being so flippin amazing, each stone will be slightly different. When ordering a piece of jewellery that includes a gem, please bear in mind that inclusions and colours may vary.
Products and materials
As a fine jeweller I only use the best materials available. Most pieces that you find here in the C.Jade shop are sterling silver but if you are looking for something solid gold, please contact me for further information and quotes.
All gems used are either semi prcious or precious gems unless stated otherwise.
Sterling silver jewellery can tarnish! depending on how often the jewellery is worn, the acidity of your skin and how well you care for your jewellery, it will over time start to tarnish. But this isn’t an issue! All it needs is a little polish or clean.
Billing
You can pay using Zapper, Direct EFT or using your bank card. All payments are secure and safe. Not feeling comfortable? Pop me a message and lets chat!
